TVR 400SE

My first introduction to the TVR "wedge" was when a friend said it was his favourite (affordable) sports car. I remember at first thinking it was very angular and not one of TVR's prettiest designs.

However, two years later, said friend plucked up the courage to actually buy one. It had to be either the 400 or 450SE for the different dash and exterior styling. Even showing him very nice 350's at half the 400 price, he was adamant.

And rightly so. The 400SE in the flesh (or fibreglass) is a much prettier car then I gave it credit. In a beautiful but unusual metallic blue and contrasting beige leather interior with walnut dash, the car is a beast in a sophisticated suit. Even at a standstill the wedge shape gives the impression of speed and when the key is turned the bark from the 4.0litre V8, sends shivers down your spine.

Ownership is still in its infancy, but so far his only complaint had been fuel economy. But with a big V8 and what is probably a heavy right foot to play that sound track at full volume, its hardly surprising.
